I spoke too soon about Goldberg's absence on RAW this week... he was originally scheduled on the show, possibly to squash La Resistance. An elbow injury at the last minute changed the plans.

This week's Smackdown! had some cool stuff. Eddy Guererro and Ultimo Dragon had a fantastic match; I didn't expect Dragon to win a berth on a title run on only his second televised match, so I wasn't upset that he lost. Also, the spots between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesner were interesting, giving Brock more of a personality. The Fatal Four-Way tag match has now likely set up Billy Kidman's heel turn against Rey at Vengeance.

There was some really dumb stuff too. Sable against Stephanie is a boneheaded idea, especially with Vince already in a match. Now there'll be two matches with non-wrestlers at the PPV, likely involving many extra-curriculars to make up for the lack of talent.

Also: why is Torrie now acting as Billy Gunn's girlfriend? Bad enough she's been used to help get him over with fans again... but we also know that she's Kidman's fiancee. This makes the whole thing even less believable.

A mixed bag of stuff for sure. I think the good outweighed the bad though. I still think it was the better show this week.

RAW had some interesting moments and things to ponder... it was held here in my city yet I wasn't there. Oh well.

Most interesting was the fact this is now 2 weeks in a row that Goldberg wasn't even mentioned, let alone performed in the ring. I can only guess it means that he's out, but we'll see.

Rosie as a face jobber now doesn't really excite me... I guess that Rodney Mack needed an equally unimpressive opponent.

Kane as a tweener was also cemented. He trashed both a face (Tommy Dreamer) and a heel (Kweeco). Plus, he trashed the face co-GM Steve Austin.

Also interesting was Shawn Michaels on Jericho's Highlite Reel. Chris started it the face, then became a heel again by dissing Canada. That brings to mind his legendary final WCW match, in which he soaked up cheers until he picked up the mic to say thanks, but the city still sucked.

I'll say this from Smackdown!: now that Zack Gowen has his contract, and Mr. America/Hulk Hogan has been written out, can we now stop seeing Vince McMahon? Can they also stop mentioning this storyline with Stephanie too? Please?
