I'll start with comments on the RAW side of things. I still have to watch my recording of Smackdown!. I'm hoping to comment on it tomorrow.
First, a thought: is Jon Heidenrich 2004's answer to Steve "Mongo" McMichaels? In terms of getting over and crummy ring-work, yes. In terms of mic skills, not even close.
Mongo wasn't great in that department either, but he was still better. That doesn't say much.
Onto RAW itself: two major bits had me shaking my head at lazy, uncreative booking.
First, the obvious one: Steve Austin's Sherrif position is a dull idea. The only difference between it and being co-GM is the fact he can beat people up again. Kick-wham-Stunner-drink beer. Whoopee.
The second thing was the return of Jazz. What does she do? Target Trish, same thing she's been doing since 2002. Trish isn't in the title picture, isn't even having many wins in the womens division, so it's just pointless.
I won't even waste too much screen space on the lame idea of having Mae Young in the shower.
