I wasn't inspired to post last week from very lackluster TV product. This past week Smackdown! was the better of the two shows, but just barely.

WWE did a bit more to add sizzle to SummerSlam, but again barely. Shawn Michaels gave us an enthralling promo, using his history in my home town (and I was at the Screwjob live!). When they played Bret Hart's music, I actually semi-hoped he'd come out to punch Shawn... but I know he's nowhere near ring shape. Still, we could dream.

The Diva Search... despite my overall disdain for the whole thing. I'm actually happy that Ashley won. She's a lovely lady - but more importantly, she's actually been training as a wrestler. Much like Michelle McCool over on SD!, that gives her far more of an upside.

One huge negative for the show: Trish Stratus still didn't come back on air.

One big plus: Chris Masters didn't stink up the ring.
