Condolences and hope are due for Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, who's battling throat cancer, and will likely need his voicebox removed.

At one time he was one of the most dominant wrestlers in North America. He couldn't adapt well to the "sports entertainment style" (more like the WWE writers of the day were clueless) - but stuff like that doesn't matter right now.

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday: Paul Heyman is back on the writing teams for both brands.

If the shows improve, we'll have an idea why.

Smackdown! was an entertaining show tonight.

It did delve into the Realm of Dumb with the Last Ride match set-up for their next PPV, but it was overall strong.

I'm not thrilled with them giving Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree the tag titles, but I think they are going to just be transitional champions. The storyline for Billy Kidman and Paul London is the really big thing there.

The Cruiserweight match that became a 6-man tag was a bit strange, considering how neither RVD or 'Hardcore' Holly have issues with the Dudleys. It gave the match a more random feel - but I think that was the intention.

The Big Show returned in a very dominant way. I noticed he beat on everyone, so whether he'll be a heel, a face or a tweener is still up in the air. Smart stuff. I was surprised though, how the fans were cheering him so loudly. I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder...

I was tired out from a Labor Day weekend trip, so I taped RAW to watch this morning.

Thank Ghod the Diva Search crap will be over in a few weeks!

I feel bad for Edge, having to sit on the shelf again so soon, but a Ladder Match between Jericho and Christian could be a Match of the Night out of it.

HHH came off strong from the cage match with Eugene. I just have to wonder if Eugene will come back from it. That kind of beating could chase many folks off for real.

I'm sure I'm not seeing the WWE fantasy booking game as a way to get ideas how to write for the brands either.
