Smackdown! ended with a great tag-team match with RVD-Rey Mysterio defending their titles against Eddie Guerrero-Booker T.

Good thing, since the rest of the show really stank.

John Cena defends the US Championship against Rene Dupree? Wow. They only had a long, dull feud in 2004. Let's add another dull match to that list!

JBL defends the World title against... Shannon Moore? They already used virtually the same gag with Brock Lesnar earlier in the year... who didn't see this coming the minute Bradshaw said he'd pull a random name from a jar?

Funaki has a rematch against Spike Dudley. All the talented Cruiserweights like Paul London and Chavo Guerrero have to be benched for this tripe.

Why is Jon Heidenreich still stinking up my screen - and why is he getting another PPV match? Hopefully it will finally end his TV stint.

At least one thing was right: Daniel Puder is presented to us as an arrogant idiot. Too bad it looks like his first match will be against Hardcore Holly though. That will be a dud no matter how they try to shine it up.

Well, on the one hand having this "Beat the Clock" thing for the Elimination Chamber meant the matches wouldn't be terribly long... but on the other hand, it meant that RAW had a lot more ring action than I've seen in a long time!

Having Batista come out as the last participant for that event also aided the slow burn to facedom for him. The fans were also seeming much more into him.

On the negative side: first was not only seeing Viscera / Mabel continue employment with the company, but having Chris Benoit stuck wrestling him. Granted it helped to continue his "David versus Goliath giant-killer" theme, but it pretty much guaranteed that the match itself wouldn't be pretty.

Second was Shawn Michaels as the special referee. Admit it: many of you saw that coming a mile away. Me included.
