Rick Scaia is more vocal on RAW than I am, and continues a trend if us not agreeing too often.

(Actually, I think it shows that he's often more observant than I am.)

*Tap-tap* Is this thing on?

I know, I haven't updated this in a few weeks. I had a good deal of thoughts on a lot of things in WWE, but I was involved in NaNoWriMo, and it took up practically all of my free time.

(If you don't want to click that, here's a nutshell version: everyone around the globe attempts to write a 50 thousand word first draft of a novel in the 30 days of November. I hit 50K on the 28th, and finished the complete story tonight. My final wordcount was 52369).

Here are some of my thoughts on recent wrestling events:

  • Paul London is quite likely one of the most talented cruiserweights on Smackdown!. Matches with him and Rey Mysterio or Chavo Guerrero would be incredible. Hell, even against Shannon Moore if he ditches his current Mad Max gimmick.

He was 1/2 of the tag team champions a few months ago. Why the hell is he now reduced to a jobber tag team with Funaki, and to put over less interesting or talented guys like The Bashams?

  • Bob Holly. He's a boring worker, and last weekend proved again he's a thug. Fire him already!

  • RAW had some good stuff. The battle royale setting up a situation where the World Title is held up, with both Chris Benoit and Edge laying claim to it, Maven starting a heel turn... these were entertaining things for Monday night.

  • On the bad side: how thin is the roster now that both Coach and Viscera get a chance at the World Title? Sad really.

  • From bad to worse: they wasted airtime for a lingerie show? Ratings drop every week, and they try this to boost them? I hope never to drink the same Kool-Aid as the "Creative" team!

  • I think the whole Mohammed Hassan gimmick is a bad idea. After 9-11, and dumb xenophobes attacking anyone who looks like an Arab to them is just adding fuel to the fires of racial stereotyping.

  • The Simon Dean gimmick is just bad, period, and even criminal now that I know he was Nova in ECW.
