The Sable situation on Smackdown! soured me to the show a lot, but I can't take away from the fantastic cruiserweight title match between Rey Mysterio Jr. and then-champ Matt Hardy.

The match was made all the better by Rey selling his "injury", not being at 100%. This is what has always bothered me about luchador matches.

Sable is the new GM's assistant on Smackdown!? SABLE??!

Even in that brief segment, she showed us how good she was - not at all.

Unless this is a part of showing Vince McMahon as an out-of-control nut, I can't see what it adds to the show.

Sad news in the wrestling world today: on RAW, Jim Ross gave us the sad tidings that "Classy" Freddie Blassie died.

He was a longtime wrestling legend, one who even appeared on the Dick Van Dyke show many years ago.

He was one of the originators of hardcore as "the vampire" in his wrestling days. Once he retired from active competition, he became "the fashion plate", "Classy", one of the classic heel managers in the WWF in the 1980s.

The federation made a big promotion of his autobiography, Listen up, you pencil-necked geeks! recently. He told us stories of his life on Confidential... and 3 weeks ago, a frail wheelchair-bound Freddie still contributed to RAW.

Another legend gone. He'll be sorely missed.

In some ways, the UK has the luck: they may soon have something we've been clamoring for here in North America for a long time - a wrestling-specific channel.

This is rumored to have OVW, CZW, Pride, Noah, and EMLL among others. I've been dying to see these feds for many years now.

I can only keep hoping we get such a channel here! All I get to see are the various WWE shows... and if I felt like blowing cash on PPVs, NWA-TNA.
