I watched Armageddon last night. It took me a day to come up with a final decision on it.

What I decided: what an incredible pile of crap!

Yes, the opening tag match was good. As a tag team RVD and Rey Mysterio Junior are fun to watch... unfortunately the next two bouts killed any heat the event could have...

The Dixie Dogfight. First, what does a boxing match have to do in a wrestling event? What does it remotely have to do with a future wrestling career either? WWE still wasted nearly 30 minutes on it. Even the fans there were chanting "Boring" by the end of the second round.

Then a tag match followed that would even add suckage to Velocity: Charlie Haas and Bob Holly versus the Basham Brothers. Punch-kick, punch-kick, and repeat. Holly is so dull he makes me miss Billy Gunn.

Kurt Angle made Al Snow in a Santa suit tap out. Again, so what?

John Cena squashed Jesus. The squash was probably done to cover Jesus' injuries, but it still was not very interesting viewing.

Charlie Haas revealed as having an affair with Dawn Marie was not a surprise revellation. Him turning on both her and Miss Jackie was - but it was also puzzling. I don't know where they'll go from there.

After stunning me by having Funaki become the Number 1 contender for the Cruiserweight title, they stunned me even more by having him win it. Some may see this as an example of a surprise. I just see it as a sad sign that the Cruiserweight title will soon be fading away like the Light Heavyweight belt with Gillberg a few years ago. You don't reward people you treat as jokes with a title you value.

The main event... Rick Scaia of Online Onslaught thought it was fun; I found it tedious. Granted, a loss for JBL should be a big thing... but on an event so lackluster, you don't wrap it up with a frustrating ending too.

I think it was appropriate that this PPV was in Atlanta... more and more, Smackdown! has become the new WCW.
