The GM Era is now run into the ground. With Matt Hardy now the latest defector, it has become another storyline like the original nWo, where people joined without rhyme or reason, and midcard talent was pushed down our throats as if we should care.

Yes, the Hardy Boys have been multiple time tag team champions - but does anyone remember former tag champs the Headbangers? Talented ring performers, but ultimately vanished. They had way less title runs, but were midcarders too.

Besides, having Matt turn heel on brother Jeff then leave for another show right after means a feud is cut short barring storyline tweaks again.

So Matt Hardy is a heel again?

If he's learned how to play it right this time, it could work... thing is, I haven't seen him grow in mic skills since the last time, and the Hardys in the ring are still the same old, same old... if you've seen one match, then you've seen them all.

Heat tonight had another match with Shelton Benjamin. I remember hearing about him as the former tag team partner of Brock Lesnar, how he was an amazing performer... my first impression of him was a lack of excitement. He's far less muscular than I thought (granted, he's still way more buff than I am!) and he hasn't yet looked that impressive to me in the ring. Hopefully that'll change with time.

I was equally unimpressed by the debut of Nick Dinsmore on the Smackdown! side, where he appeared on Velocity. You know a guy isn't great when he jobs for Albert for Pete's sake!

There was a feature on Confidential yesterday about the oldest WWE fan: Gertrude Gash, age 107.

That's an amazing age, in itself something worth celebrating... but one thing a social worker there said was very sad to me: she's outlived her children and her husband. Her entire family.

How heartbreaking must it be to see everyone you loved die first.
