WWE made two more cuts from the roster: Justin Credible and Raven.

Justin would have been a major loss if the fed had ever done anything with him. After putting him in a bad stable with X-Pac and Albert, he was only used as a high paid jobber.

Raven on the other hand... they built him up on Heat as a player who went nowhere, made a big deal of a match that got him back on RAW, had him change his look... and dropped him. This is more a case of layoff because the bookers had no idea how to use him.

What's really sad here: the above-mentioned Albert, not even a fraction as interesting as the other two, STILL stays on the payroll and gets a push. Very sad.

So Eric Bishoff's bombshell was that he's inviting Stone Cold Steve Austin to No Way Out? Unless I've forgotten how to add dates, that's after his 30 day notice... regardless, it made for a pretty anti-climactic announcement.

At least Flair's new stable seems finally together. Randy Orton and Batista are mostly green for now, but this finally gives them something to work with.

The original Sheik Ed Farhat passed away Saturday at 78 years of age.

The Sheik was one of the pioneers in the bloodier hardcore style, and often feuded with Bobo Brazil. He was also the original trainer for both Rob Van Dam and Sabu.

The Royal Rumble this year was mostly a good affair.

Triple-H retained his title by disqualification - something that didn't go over well with the fans - but I guess it's just as well. The match was better than expected, but it was easy to see how tired out Scott Steiner was in the end.

I could see a rematch having a no-DQ stipulation from this.

Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit had the five-star match we all expected. Lots of false finishes, chain and counter-wrestling... even though the title didn't change hands, the fans gave Benoit a standing ovation in the end.

The Rumble match itself was very interesting. Shawn Michaels was both the first entrant and the first one out. Albert lasted much longer than he deserved, but I think I also noticed something: he looks like he's gained a lot of weight. Not muscle - fat.

Overall though, I enjoyed this card.
