Smackdown! had some interesting storybuilding Thursday night.

(First, I have to say that I'm surprised that Mr. America was so over here in Canada. Even though he's Hulk Hogan, I didn't think the gimmick would get over here based on the anti-American reactions on RAW)

The scenes with Stephanie and Vince McMahon set the seeds of a new rift between the two, this time with Stephanie the "good guy".

The Big Show's stretcher attack at the PPV also set up the scene for his match with Brock Lesner at Judgment Day. Another match with TBS and Brock needed something extra to make it something fans would like to see. After all, there'd be no other reason to be interested in a Show match.

John Cena was also very much over here in Canada. Fans cheered his raps. I'm getting a Joel Gertner vibe here - although cleaner, of course!

Tonight's RAW took a major step forward by reintroducing something wrongly phased out a while back: the Intercontinental title.

I've said this for a bit, and I'm sure others have: cutting this title took away a major story reason for everyone not put in the World title picture, leaving most of the roster to flounder aimlessly.

The PTBs must have realized the problem this posed for the upcoming single-brand PPVs. They needed it back to help make more stories possible.

I was cheering from Austin's first mention of the IC name.
