The new diva on RAW was Alexis Laree on TNA. She's had a definite boob job ever since.

Wrestling roundup

I haven't commented here in quite a while. WWE did nothing interesting enough to comment on.

Now we've had our first full week back on USA, TNA is now on Spike TV... there's actually something to say!

I haven't seen the latest episode of Impact yet (I recorded it while doing something else), so I'll comment on that first week:

  • TNA Impact

The product does look better than the past (I'm watching 2-year old shows on ESPN Classics Canada), and the X-division was visually exciting (Petey Williams' "Canadian Destroyer" looks great), and they outdrew Velocity's ratings... but can it sustain itself?

While exciting to see, the X-division still suffers from the indie "spot-fest with no story" mentality.

The fed also has a few negatives: I don't see Monty Brown as even borderline interesting... and I can't swallow the idea of Jeff Hardy as a main event player.

One other problem: if this will be their sole TV show then Impact shouldn't have squash matches. Squashes don't build interest in PPVs

  • RAW's homecoming

Maybe someone didn't clue the "brain trust" in to make this entire show solid.

You basically got 2 excellent matches (HBK/Angle with a bad ending, Hardy/Edge - I don't like the continuing undeserved push for him), one nearly solid (HHH/Flair-Cartlito/Chris F. Masters), one bit of forgetful fluff (the 3 on two bra and panties match)... but then they gave us the way too long Austin/McMahons skit (more than 20 minutes to get to a point? Keeripes!) and the equally pointless Cena/Bishoff joke (I can't call it a match and take myself seriously). Oh yeah we also got more denigrating of the Smackdown! product (I know it'll lead to a Survivor Series match, but it still was upsetting.

  • TSN and Censoring

I got The Score (a Canadian digital TV channel) to continue to see Smackdown! I know, I'm a masochist... I broke my statement of not getting the show once it left UPN

Anyway, an interesting thing happened when MNM hit Christy Hemme with The Snapshot: they didn't cut away - proving yet again why TSN insults our intelligence.

  • Post-UPN Smackdown!

We got some good ring action, but the show failed to do anything to entice more people to buy the No Mercy PPV.
