Smackdown! - Friday Jan 6

Now that the show has aired in the US, I won't be spoiling it.

The show had exactly one excellent match (the Cruiserweight title one) and one OK (the steel cage tag title defense, dropped a notch because of Mark Henry).

Juventud Guerrera's firing was spurred by him making the Cruiserweight match go too long? It was maybe 5 or 6 minutes, for crying out loud! It just shows: the cruisers are used as jobbers for the heavyweights (like Paul London and Brian Kendricks - in cool new outfits, BTW - just being used for a squash to Gemini - an already dull new tag team. Ohh... they have no skill, but they're big and idential! So what), but aren't allowed to show their talent on TV. Get them out quickly!

Yes I'm being snarky

Speaking of Gemini: was I the only one who thought it was The Bashams with a weight gain?

... Also speaking of stuff we don't see: has the Juniors idea already been ended? If they're on Velocity I don't know; I don't watch web-only shows.

Mark Henry's stupid 10-year deal is over in a few months. I hope it doesn't get renewed... but the 'creative' mokeys have surprised us before.

Wave bye-bye to Juventud!

WWE is announcing that Juventud Guerrera was released by the federation today. Apparently he rubbed a few people the wrong way, and his Smackdown! match against Kid Kash went too long (more on that in my next post. We already saw the show here in Canada, but I won't spoil it for American readers).

I've been unimpressed with him from day one, both performance-wise and professionally. This won't leave a hole in the Cruiserweight joke- I mean division.

(I know, this is late!) RAW - Monday Jan 2

If the first RAW of the year is a blueprint for 2006, then the show will be crap. It did offer one intriguing thing though:

On the bad side: if moving to USA Network meant we're stuck with more McMahon appearances now, we all got a raw deal. They aren't even consistent from week to week, or even minute to minute! He's a fac- no wait he's a heel to Shawn Michae- no, he supports the troops, he makes a bra and panties match for the PPV (not that it will make me buy it)... but overall, he's just a creepy jerk.

The interesting thing from Monday: against a Kurt Angle who's supposed to be hated, John Cena got heavy boos from the crowd! Does the jokingly called 'creative' get now that the Cena experiment is a bust? We saw the proof now!
