I found out tonight that Summerslam will be August 24th. That's two days before I go to WorldCon in Toronto - so I'll get to see it. Groovy!

Vengeance was overall a way better PPV than I expected. The crowd was hot the entire show, the wrestling matches (with a few exceptions) were excellent too.

When the US Title final opened the show, I worried that Guerrero and Benoit wouldn't be given the time for a lengthy match. I was gratefully wrong. They got 30 minutes to put on a fantastic bout full of near falls, nailbiting spots and a run-in by Rhyno to lead Eddie to the title win.

Kidman caused the "Holy sh-t!" moment of the night with a shooting star press onto Haas and Benjamin from the top rope to the floor.

Stephanie and Sable was mercifully brief, with an inexplicable run-in by A-Train. In this match I finally noticed something about Rena: she had her implants removed! Nice to know she won't poke our eyes out in the cheap seats anymore.

Unfortunately, Sable's win signalled that the other McMahon got a win over Zack Gowen. I'm not too happy with the resolution of Vince being a major dick to Zack was that. At least he had the real hardway blood-job for the effort...plus, he'll be confronting Kane on RAW Monday night. Hopefully that will mark his exit from TV again.

Kurt Angle winning back the title was a surprise. I expected that to stretch until Summerslam. I guess that now Brock will be the challenger there.
