Let me try this again... I actually had a long post last week, but the Blogger system ate it up instead of publishing.

It seems that ratings-wise, RAW has been improving lately. Reviewers are starting to like it again.

If this is in part due to Paul Heyman having his fingers in the booking of both "brands", then his change of title may not really have been a punishment. I've also noticed that RAW has more of the "Alliance" guys on the roster...

With the recent talent aquisitions though, I don't think they really made things better:

Goldberg. Yes, he's got a lot of fans. Still, he's repetitive in the ring, he's clumsy (I think the bit they showed of footage with Bret Hart was where Bill screwed up and led to his retirement) and like Scott Steiner before him his fan pops will diminish as soon as they see him perform.

Rena Mero (Sable). Here, we have someone who makes Goldberg seem multi-dimensional in comparison! She's an awful worker (she isn't talking of wrestling yet, thank Ghod), her 4 year absence hasn't improved her mic skills (she still seems wooden)... I don't see what she'll bring to the product.

Rowdy Roddy Piper. I used to love his verbal skills. He's been a rambling bore for a long time though, and he can't really handle ring performance well now.

I don't expect any of these three to make a real impact.
