I just watched my recording of Smackdown! today. This week, I think RAW got the better deal on a trade.

Kurt Angle is a real catch for the RAW roster. He can bring a good deal of sizzle to the ring. Chris Benoit to SD! last week added some great stuff to the brand... but Randy Orton this week?

Many of us thought he'd do well on the other brand. As a point-for-point trade though... despite what some folks will say, he's just not that exciting in the ring. He has a personality now, something he lacked in his first SD! stint... but he's just not that gripping overall.

For him to come to continue to feud with the Undertaker though... UT's match with JBL was already a snoozer. I don't think Orton will make anything better.

It seems the ECW One Night Stand brought new talents to the WWE to stay: Kid Kash, Super Crazy and Psichosis have all 3 joined the Cruiserweight roster.

Less interesting to me: Juventud Guerrera is also now on contract. I wasn't terribly impressed with him to begin with.

Joey Styles will now be doing some mic work for the ECW parts of WWE 24/7. When he announced this, he even joked about Hell freezing over (he hasn't gotten along with Vince McMahon for years.)

Right now it's morning in Montreal. We're less than 12 hours away from ECW One Night Stand - and this is the PPV I've been more excited about than any other in years.

I have 2 tapes of vintage ECW action: the birth of ECW with Shane Douglas throwing down the NWA World Title, the Fountain of Chairs, the origins of the popularity of The Public Enemy (that team alone was wasted in both their WCW and WWF stints. Only us diehards really care about Rocco Rock's death a few years ago)... these are all great memories.

I just read that Mike Awesome-Masato Tanaka have been added to the card. I remember when Awesome... well, WAS!

I just hope right now that WWE doesn't screw it up.
