More sad news to report: Michael Hegstrand, best known as Road Warrior Hawk, passed away in his sleep last night.

Newer wrestling fans remember the sad appearance for the Road Warriors on RAW a few months ago - but these guys were the pioneers of the make-up wearing wrestling bad-asses to come. They were famous for matches where they would storm the ring and squash their opponents before their ring entrance music was over.

He wasn't that old. Maybe his mid-fourties. Another piece of my cultural past is now gone. That's really sad.
