The latest news on Hulk Hogan's proposed new federation deal with Universal Studios is that it fell through.

I can't say that I'm surprised.

Hogan's statements that he and old guard wrestlers would just provide star power while giving high exposure to new talent... well, let me make a comparison from my home town of Montreal:

We had an old-time wrestling legend here known as The Great Antonio. In his youth he gained fame pulling busses by sheer muscle power; in his older days he was just a streetie who embarassed people into letting him in to shows and movies for free.

Anyways, when I saw him he was always insisting he was going to record an album, that he was a better singer than Frank Sinatra.

Everyone knew this was a rib; the man had a loud atonal voice like a wounded yak. So we'd just nod and let him say what he wanted, rather than argue.

(He's been gone for many years, RIP)

Whenever Hogan swears that he'll push young talent, or that Vince McMahon will give him $50 million to start up... we just nod and walk on, not taking it seriously either.
