WCW got the short end again: York and Matthews an ECW tag team that were expected to sign with that league signed with the WWF instead.

With Titan's poor track record with cruiserweight talent, I don't know if this will be a good thing... but they are part of the same group as the Hardy Boyz... and those two have gone from jobbers to stars within less than a year, so who knows what will happen here.

CFCF 12, Montreal's CTV station, replaceWWF Jakked (called Metal here) on Saturdays with WCW Thunder a while back... it makes sense, not having the WWF's least interesting show anymore - but Thunder is a program where only the Cruiserwieght match near the beginning is watchable; the matches afterwards induce sleep in me.

I don't see the cruisers being the saviors of WCW though. Not because they aren't talented - far from that! No, the problem is the way that Eric Bishoff uses them: he just throws them in the ring, with little thought towards making stories with them.

WCW / NWA has a history of great feuds based on storylines: Rock and Rolls vs. The Midnight Express, Roddy Piper vs. Greg Valentine (yes, "The Hammer" was good in his younger days!)... even Sting vs. The Dangerous Alliance was gripping.

Looking at the Cruiserweights though... other than an occasional move that makes us 'mark out', what'll be memorable about their matches? Nothing. Sad but true.

- Then again, this is the promotion that expects us to forget how Kid Romeo was a jobber let go before being brought back.
