My personal Blog, Jazz Life, is silent until tomorrow, as part of A Day Without Weblogs, similar to the Day Without Art that's put on for World AIDS Day. This Blog isn't involved.

What I'd like to talk about today has been plastered all over the 'net since yesterday: Scott Hall was arrested for drunk driving.

I'll admit that I was just annoyed with him at first; here was a guy trying to get his life back in order that just blew it; could have killed innocent people in process.

Then, I thought of the non-wrestling celebrity caught in a slip this week: Robert Downey Jr. was arrested again for drug possession, he too in the middle of trying to get his life back in order. In his case, I just felt sorry for him, his demons getting the better of him.

How could I feel bad for the latter but be annoyed with the former? That'd be pretty hypocritical of me, not to mention unfair.

Addictions are difficult to shake, no matter the substance. In both cases, I ultimately feel bad for a man who seemed back on the good foot and fell.

Ultimately, I'm just relieved that Hall didn't kill himself - or more importantly, the other people involved in the accident.
